Jack In The Box Burger Joint Sues FTX Exchange Over Mascot

Jack in the Box, the popular burger joint is now suing the FTX cryptocurrency exchange over its new mascot, claiming that the exchange stole their ball-headed mascot look as we are reading more in our latest cryptocurrency news today.
Jack in the Box filed a lawsuit against FTX crypto exchange and it stated that the FTX character infringes the intellectual property of the mascot. The burger join sues FTX over the Moon Man mascot which the fast-food chain claims look similar to the ping-pong ball-headed clown which was flipping burgers since 1994.

In a complaint, this wee, Jack in the Box complained that the FTX Moon Man exploits the JITB valuable intellectual property and trades on the JITB goodwill in the longstanding and well-recognized mascot. FTX explained that they got a cease and desist letter from the burger join but said it wasn’t trying to exploit the burger trader or ride on the success of the mascot:
“Jack in the Box has only narrow protection limited to the behatted ping pong-headed clown who exploded out of a box to sell burgers.”
FTX started using Moon Man as a new mascot for the new partnership between Major League Baseball last month and FTX. The Moon Man looks like a depressed suburbanite who is tired of being a target of baseballs after the MLB Started calling home runs “moon blasts”. the Moon Man however found solace in crypto trading on fTX which hopefully will send him to the moon. Jack in the Box mascot by contrast was a really psychotic CEO that will not take no for an answer, according to the ad in the 90s which said:
“You’re not just saying that [you like my burgers] because I’m kneeling on your spine?”

Even though the Moon Man has a character that is opposite from Jack in the Box, they do look pretty similar. The burger joint complained that just like Jack, the FTX Moon Man has a similar white head that is connected to a talking human actor, with a huge smile and blue eyes. Unlike the Jack In the Box mascot, the Moon Man doesn’t have an ice cream cone hat. JITB also thinks that the mascot is better than the one FTX has:
“Making matters worse, FTX’s Moon Man is a far inferior version of Jack that is now tarnishing Jack’s reputation to consumers.”
Jack In the box patented its artistic expression of the character back in 1994 and he has been working around the clock as an acting CEO and founder ever since. The company also found itself in many legal battles for its adverts over the years as well as franchise disputes, ADA lawsuits, and e.Coli outbreaks.
